Abstract This paper explores the application of EU Competition Law to exploitation human genome editing technology. Holders key patents in sector have applied different methods for disseminating technology, such as forms licensing agreement and patent pools. It is found that competition rules are ill-suited assess some arrangements applied, which give rise legal uncertainty. Accordingly, holders on technology may be discouraged apply efficient delay or obstruct benefits supposed deliver market, maker actors consumers.
